Not too long ago I discussed conservatism and socialism with a relative. They espoused socialism with the simple argument of “what if” with the assumption that an individual was incapable of supporting themselves. This individual then laid out numerous “what if” scenarios.

I replied “what if is only relevant to fairy tales and movie scripts.“ Then prompted with a few rebuttals encompassing the “what if” hypothesis:

What if an asteroid wiped out half of North America?  Hell, let’s be more specific, an approaching asteroid hurdling towards our beautiful blue planet spilt into numerous pieces.  Those meteorites just happen to wipe out our collective governments in Ottawa, Washington DC, and every leftist biased government on our eastern seaboard and western coasts.  So, how do the citizens that depend upon one or more government subsistence programs survive? With no government, there will be no one from the leftist bureaucracy to cut them their rightful and well-deserved cheque.  Since birth many of those delicate and underprivileged individuals were raised with the false hope that government will provide from cradle to the grave. 

Okay, the asteroid was a little farfetched but like I said “What ifs” are usually only effective for fantasy and movies.  But what if our three levels of government continue to misspend and continue to grow that escalating debt and collapse the system from successive deficit spending? That is no fantasy but a clear reality.  Government income is based on speculation. Speculation that taxpayers will continue to have jobs and the assumption governments can continue pull money from the masses by increasing income, property and consumption taxes.  We are closer to a Depression rather than a Recession than most people realize.  When our nation’s creditors like foreign interests demand unpayable recompense on loans issued to our governments, what will happen? I foresee China or other foreign entities foreclosing on properties and seizing government assets throughout North America.  With no money in the piggy bank how will government issue the cheques required by those dependent upon government subsistence?

What if our current legislators whether they be Republican or Conservative had a spine rather than the wet noodles we witness today? A spine that empowered them to stand firm when hard decisions needed to be made.  Legislators that did not capitulate to leftist paid lobbyists and special interest groups.

What if we those so called right leaning legislators with a backbone became pillars, actually voted and created laws with strong conservative values that encompassed a God fearing Biblical based moral conviction (without Sharia)?

What if we elected a strong conservative leader and not an establishment type? We have yet to witness such.

What if our strong conservative legislators got down to business and actually decreased the physical size of our burgeoning governments and shrunk the debt? A government that was concerned more with her citizens employment rather than their own.  A government where its workers were productive as most private and small business rather than a government where 86% of government spending is on directionless autopilot. What if this new smaller government actually transferred the power back to the individual, empowering them to be self-reliant and allowed for personal responsibility and personal initiative?  

What if journalists actually reported news rather than creating fake news? Far too often we read/see biased opinion rather than facts.  We also witness so many times a non-issue is forefront, while main stream media overlook pertinent news worthy issues. Issues of Clinton corruption ignored, or the incompetence and stupid antics of Justin Trudeau but focus on fake news emanating from the New York Times and CNN that there is discontent within the White House. What if everyone was employed and financially literate? Can you imagine the resulting wealth creation from a burgeoning economy that was unfettered from political manipulation!

Play the “What if” dance when ever a socialist suggests wealth redistribution is the answer for their “what if” scenarios.
