Yellow Vests & The Bridge - December 30, 2018

Posted 8/4/2019

Weyburn’s Yellow Vest Canada protest mustered on a bridge over the Souris River for the first time, 11:00 am Saturday Dec 29. Organized at the last minute with the bond why hasn’t Weyburn shared its civic duty. Stepping out upon the bridge with nervous trepidation “Would we be welcomed or shunned in our community?” We knew we were connected when our city’s Mayor, his Worship Marcel Roy, welcomed us with his presence and put on a Yellow Vest at the beginning of gathering.

Approximately 30 men, women and children connected in -10 Celsius temperatures. During one moment of the rally we numbered around 22 or more. Other earthly obligations (maintaining a living) caused a few Yellow Vests to leave before the two-hour demonstration ended. Not all the participants were oilfield workers; we had farmers, a Canada Post employee, businessmen, business woman and students.

Those of us donning the vests and carried placards or yellow signs, shared our voices for various reasons. We had one common purpose, peaceful protest and bridge our disfavor between the citizens of Weyburn and our current Federal government.

My contention involved taxation. Approximately 55% of my income is pilfered from my wallet by our three levels of government: Federal, Provincial and Municipal. When will the construction of that bridge to nowhere be stopped?

Apparently not in the near future. Adding a Carbon tax to that forceful theft does not bode well for my family, our retirement and the generous donations which includes our time my family provides to causes we believe in. A Carbon tax means nothing except furthering the redistribution of wealth. I, like most Canadians, are connected with our disbelief in man-made global warming, now re-branded climate change for political correctness and the fact earth is not warming past the point of no return, but may be experiencing a cooling period.

Climate change is a natural earthly phenomenon. It is constant; it is slow. We can argue until you are blue in the face whether man contributes to climate change. My research shows mankind’s contribution is nothing more than a pimple on a dinosaur’s ass. Or a more modern analogy, a fart in a winter snow storm. You cannot argue with a serious face that a carbon tax will eliminate our dependence on ancient dinosaur poop, aka carbon-based fuel (oil, coal, etc.). A carbon tax is nothing but the sustenance that feeds a white elephant of a leftist government misspending.

Besides myself there was Bill. He donned a yellow vest to voice his displeasure with Trudeau and how he handed over our great nation of Canada to the corrupt leftist terrorist organization, the United Nations. Bill also dislikes how our inept Prime Minister allows illegal immigrants unfettered entry. He like others, are not against immigration. Immigrants helped build our prosperous nation. But, BUT, that immigration was controlled. Those of questionable character, health and the ability to not burden Canadian tax payers were not allowed entry into Canada, just as it was done in the United States.

Another gentleman, shared his opinion about Trudeau’s pal and advisor, Gerald Butts. This conversation evolved to the absolute corruption coming from Trudeau and their Liberal brethren, especially from those in cabinet. That discussion bridged to how Canadian media, especially the CBC, CTV and Global News willfully ignored or covered up those stories.

Talking with two knowledgeable Yellow Vest participants, the subject spanned to conspiracies and how the establishment maintains controls. The Rockefeller, Rothschild, Trudeau, the Kennedy types (leftist capitalists) who manipulate government and humanity to maintain wealth and power. A power that strives for total control whereby her citizens must submit their income, their thoughts and their actions. One must be dependent upon the government from the cradle to the grave.

Discussion bridged from one topic to another. Was Trudeau instigating Canada’s demise or was the new establishment types like Gerald Butts, Barack Obama, George Soros pulling the puppet strings? One person doubted Trudeau was smart enough to pull off the feat of purposeful destruction.

Each of us who participated had our individual reasons. What is yours? I found it profound that many of the subjects discussed at length upon the Bridge paralleled my points of discussion within my book The Naked leftist.

After two plus hours, satisfied with our civic activism, we removed our vests and put away our signs. Over 90% of passers by shared their support with car horns, air horns, donuts, coffee, thumbs up and friendly waves. We all agreed to meet again January 5th at the same location and time; this time all of us must bring a friend or two. So, come out and share your story, make sure you bring a friend; we will supply the vests and some signs.
